Salam ,Hello I am Redouane Al Fakir (pronounced "redwaan al faqeer");I was born and raised in Morocco, but spent most of my adult life in Canada where I have been living for more than twenty-seven years, most of it in the gorgeous Pacific city of Vancouver will host the 201O winnter olympics games .and also the home of www.moroccan.ca home of the Moroccan Comunity in Canada . Once I completed my studies in astrophysics and cosmology, and after I reached a certain degree of maturity as a seniorsenior academic, I focused my efforts on trying to create a high-level astrophysics and cosmology institute in my country of origin. I was eventually offered by the Moroccan government an opportunity to do just that.
I was appointed to a rather privileged permanent professorship, with teaching duties waived at 100% and a very generous budget. For two or three years, then, I expanded a lot of effort to make the new institute project work. During that time, I kept a parallel presence in my original institution in Vancouver, the University of British Columbia, this time as a visiting scholar. When I eventually had to abandon that first attempt at building a new institute and resume my official residence in Canada, I kept my visiting status at UBC, and, in parallel with my physics research and my environmental campaign. Several years later, that effort resulted in the present Muhammad Institute, which is thus injected with the extensive experience acquired during the several years of previous attempts in the same direction. My time is presently devoted to directing the independent Muhammad Institute, headquartered for now in Vancouver, while continuing previously initiated research in astrophysics and cosmology within the gravity and cosmology group at the University of British Columbia, also in Vancouver
